The FXDX “quarter fairing” uses Harley’s detachable hardware for its docking system.

It’s composed in part by steel bands that attach to the fork tubes. These bands have buttons on the side where the fairing mounting plates attach.

The beauty of this system is the fast and easy installation and removal of the fairing without any tools whatsoever.

FXDX-T fairing is taller and wider. It also features an adjustable windshield that allows for a laid-back angle, a nearly vertical position, or anywhere in between.

The fairing mounting plates are bolted to the sides of the upper triple trees and to the top of the lower triple trees.

In an effort to adapt the FXDX-T fairing to FXDX docking system, the windshield adjustment assembly from the FXDX-T will need to be removed in order for the FXDX-T fairing to clear the FXDX’s headlight “eyebrow” located on the upper triple tree.
